Bob McQueen joined TBIA in February 2020, bringing more than three decades of institutional expertise in retirement plan design, administration, and fiduciary governance. He’s navigated several bull and bear markets and brings analytical rigour and steady guidance, helping individuals and institutions reach their financial goals.
Before joining the firm, Bob spent 27 years with SI Group, Inc., most of it in senior roles focused on pension administration, tax compliance, and investment management, working with both Defined Contribution and Defined Benefit Plans, giving him a deep understanding of what plan sponsors need and what participants are trying to accomplish. When the opportunity came to join TBIA, it felt like the right move, working directly with clients on portfolio construction and monitoring, helping pension plan sponsors think through fiduciary responsibilities, and educating participants about their options.
Bob earned his B.S. in Business Administration with a focus on Accounting from American University in 1987, followed by my M.S. in Taxation in 1988. He also holds the Accredited Investment Fiduciary (AIF®) and Professional Plan Consultant (PPC®) designations, reflecting his commitment to placing clients’ interests first and specializing in employer-sponsored retirement plans. He also holds FINRA Series 7, 66, and insurance licenses through LPL Financial.
A Rotterdam native, Bob and his wife, Irene, now split their time between the Capital Region and Sebastian, Florida. Bob maintains an active presence in both our New York and Florida offices to best serve clients across the region. When he’s not working or spending time with his family, which includes two grown sons, Bob enjoys the outdoors, gardening, and everything the Florida coast has to offer.
