Ryan Obst joined TBIA in 2008 and has been a cornerstone of the practice ever since. He is the lead trader for the firm, and clients value Ryan’s calm, thorough approach and his ability to translate complex financial concepts into straightforward, actionable strategies. Whether guiding families through retirement planning, helping business owners with succession and benefits packages, or assisting individuals with wealth accumulation and protection, Ryan is known for listening first and building plans that stand the test of time.
A 2003 honors graduate of Siena College, B.S. in Finance, he went on to earn his MBA from the College of Saint Rose in 2005. Early in his career, Ryan honed his planning and risk-management skills in the insurance division of Ayco/Goldman Sachs before bringing that expertise to TBIA. Ryan holds FINRA Series 7 and 66, and insurance licenses through LPL Financial.
A Queensbury native, he and his wife, Jamie, have lived in Clifton Park since 2003. Ryan is an avid skier and lifelong hockey enthusiast. He grew up watching the Adirondack Red Wings play in Glens Falls, and still gets to the rink as often as he can. When the mountains are calling, you'll find him on the slopes.
